Contact Us

PlainDoctor publishes more than 7 million U.S. healthcare-provider records compiled, according to CMS, from the federal National Provider Identifier Registry maintained since May 2007; you can search and compare that public data, and our methodology documents every source.

If a provider's information appears outdated, or you have suggestions for improving the healthcare search experience, please reach out. PlainDoctor is an independent reference site built around public healthcare data, and feedback from readers and providers helps us keep it accurate and useful.

Pre-filled for a data correction on the page you came from: the General inquiries link below opens your email client with the page URL already in the message.

Data Corrections

If you believe a provider record on PlainDoctor is inaccurate, the fastest way to help us is to email us with the specific page URL and a clear description of what is wrong. We source provider data from CMS NPPES and Medicare public datasets and refresh it on a regular schedule.

Useful evidence speeds up a review. A link to the provider's official listing, a state licensing board page, or the practice's own website helps us confirm the correct value. Please note that for fields drawn from government data, the authoritative fix often lives upstream, and we explain how that works in the corrections process below.

Response Time

We aim to respond to most messages within 72 hours on business days. Partnership inquiries and media requests can take up to one week, since they often involve more than one person. We are a small editorial team, so we appreciate your patience during busy periods.

For time-sensitive matters, please say so clearly in the subject line so we can prioritize. Keep in mind that PlainDoctor is a reference site and not an emergency or medical service, so urgent health questions should always go to a clinician rather than to us.

Corrections Process

When you report a factual error, please include four things: the exact URL of the page, the field you believe is wrong, the value you think is correct, and a link to the official source. Those details let us reproduce the issue quickly and verify it against the underlying public records.

For data that originates with the government, we usually wait for the next upstream refresh so that our page stays consistent with the official source. In the meantime, we can add a correction notice to the page when an error is clear and material, so other readers are not misled while the source catches up.

Methodology and Source Questions

If you want to understand how a figure was calculated, where a dataset came from, or how often we update, we are happy to explain. Many common questions are already answered on our methodology page, which describes our sources and how we process them. If something there is unclear, email us with the page and the specific number you are asking about.

Press and Media

Journalists and researchers are welcome to cite PlainDoctor, and we are glad to help with context, data background, or attribution questions. For interview requests or deadline-driven queries, email hello@plaindoctor.com with "Press" in the subject line and your deadline, and we will reply as quickly as we can.

Partnerships and Licensing

We consider partnerships that genuinely help readers find and understand healthcare data, and we can discuss licensing arrangements for our compiled views of public datasets. We do not, however, sell editorial placement or favorable treatment. If you have a proposal, send a short summary of what you have in mind so we can route it to the right person.

Accessibility Feedback

We want PlainDoctor to be usable by everyone, including people who rely on screen readers, keyboard navigation, or high-contrast settings. If you hit a barrier, tell us which page and what assistive technology you were using, and we will treat it as a priority fix. Clear, specific reports help us reproduce and resolve issues faster.

What We Cannot Help With

To set expectations, there are a few things that fall outside what we can do. PlainDoctor is not affiliated with CMS, NPPES, Medicare, or any government agency, so we cannot change, remove, or expedite official records. A provider who needs to correct their official listing should do so directly with the source agency, and that update will then flow through to our site on the next refresh.

We are also not a medical provider, and we cannot give medical advice, diagnose conditions, recommend treatment, or help with appointments, billing, or insurance disputes. For any urgent medical need, please contact a licensed clinician, or call 911 or your local emergency number. PlainDoctor is a reference tool to help you research, not a substitute for professional care.

Editorial Independence

PlainDoctor is an independent editorial operation that builds plain-language reference sites around public healthcare data. We do not accept payment or placement from providers or facilities we cover, and inclusion on the site is never something that can be bought or removed for a fee. Our only revenue source is contextual display advertising, which keeps the site free to read while keeping our coverage decisions independent of the entities we write about.
