Data Corrections
If you believe a provider record on PlainDoctor is inaccurate, the fastest way to help us is to email us with the specific page URL and a clear description of what is wrong. We source provider data from CMS NPPES and Medicare public datasets and refresh it on a regular schedule.
Useful evidence speeds up a review. A link to the provider's official listing, a state licensing board page, or the practice's own website helps us confirm the correct value. Please note that for fields drawn from government data, the authoritative fix often lives upstream, and we explain how that works in the corrections process below.
Response Time
Messages are read by the one person who runs Kiznis Studio, the studio behind PlainDoctor, who works with AI tools. We answer most messages within three business days, and privacy requests, including a clinician's request about their own page, within one month.
For time-sensitive matters, please say so clearly in the subject line so we can prioritize. Keep in mind that PlainDoctor is a reference site and not an emergency or medical service, so urgent health questions should always go to a clinician rather than to us.
Corrections Process
When you report a factual error, please include four things: the exact URL of the page, the field you believe is wrong, the value you think is correct, and a link to the official source. Those details let us reproduce the issue quickly and verify it against the underlying public records.
An error of ours (a calculation, a join, a label) is fixed at once and logged in the changelog. A value that comes from a federal file stays as the file states it, and when an error in it is clear we add a note beside it saying what was reported, until the source is corrected. You can also dispute a comparison or a ranking position: tell us the page and why, and we check the method and the figures behind it.

Methodology and Source Questions
If you want to understand how a figure was calculated, where a dataset came from, or how often we update, we are happy to explain. What We Cannot Help With
To set expectations, there are a few things that fall outside what we can do. PlainDoctor is not affiliated with CMS, NPPES, Medicare, or any government agency, so we cannot change the official records themselves. A provider who needs to correct an official listing does so with the source agency, and the fix reaches PlainDoctor at the next load. A clinician can still ask us to correct, restrict or remove their PlainDoctor page, as the privacy policy explains.
We are also not a medical provider, and we cannot give medical advice, diagnose conditions, recommend treatment, or help with appointments, billing, or insurance disputes. For any urgent medical need, please contact a licensed clinician, or call 911 or your local emergency number. PlainDoctor is a reference tool to help you research, not a substitute for professional care.
Editorial Independence
PlainDoctor is an independent editorial operation that builds plain-language reference sites around public healthcare data. We do not accept payment or placement from providers or facilities we cover, and nobody can pay to be listed, ranked or removed; a removal request is decided on the grounds in the privacy policy, never for a fee. Our only revenue source is display advertising, which keeps the site free to read while keeping our coverage decisions independent of the entities we write about.
